General Motors recently unveiled the newly redesigned versions of its popular entry-level GMC Terrain crossover, showcasing a fresh standard “Elevation” model. The revamped compact crossover boasts a more rugged exterior design and a revamped interior featuring an impressive 26 inches of screens, including a 15-inch center touchscreen and an 11-inch driver information cluster. In addition to these updates, the vehicle now includes a range of new standard safety and convenience features, such as adaptive cruise control, front heated seats, and enhanced automatic emergency braking.

One of the standout features of the redesigned Terrain is the inclusion of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features. These technologies allow drivers to seamlessly integrate their smartphones with the vehicle’s infotainment system, providing access to navigation, music, and other apps. Additionally, the consolidation of the “SLE” and “SLT” trims into the Elevation model has streamlined the model lineup, making it easier for customers to choose the right configuration for their needs.

Pricing and Availability

Despite the extensive upgrades, General Motors has not yet disclosed the pricing for the redesigned Terrain. However, the vehicle is expected to start rolling out to GMC showrooms later this year. The current starting prices for the Terrain range from approximately $30,000 to $40,000, making it an attractive option for drivers looking for a well-equipped compact crossover. The Elevation trim will be the first to launch, followed by the off-road-oriented AT4 and the luxurious Denali models.

The Terrain has traditionally been one of the top-selling non-truck models for GMC, a brand known for its diverse lineup of vehicles, ranging from compact crossovers to large trucks and SUVs, including the GMC Hummer EVs. Sales of the Terrain, which is manufactured in Mexico, have seen a significant increase of 31% year over year in the first half of this year. This growth comes after a 17% decline in sales in 2023, indicating a positive trajectory for the revamped model.

The redesigned GMC Terrain crossover offers an enticing blend of advanced features, streamlined trim options, and robust sales performance. With its rugged yet modern design, innovative technology enhancements, and strong sales momentum, the Terrain is poised to make a significant impact in the competitive compact crossover segment. The upcoming launch of the Elevation, AT4, and Denali models is sure to attract a wide range of customers seeking a versatile and stylish vehicle option.
